750 Pages, Countless Variations, and Yet Manageable – Automated Catalog Production at Regiolux

750 pages, countless variations, complex tables—and yet, maximum control: How can this be achieved in catalog production?
For over 70 years, Regiolux has been developing and manufacturing innovative luminaires and lighting systems for industrial, commercial, and public buildings—with a clear focus on high-quality, application-oriented lighting solutions and a consistent customer experience from initial inspiration through to concrete implementation.

The product catalog, which spans more than 750 pages, has been automatically generated since 2009 using the xmedia PIM system in combination with priint:comet. With each new generation, however, the requirements increase: additionallayout variants, a growing variety of product options, complex table structures, and the seamless integration of print and digital content.

Using the Regiolux project as an example, Thomas Kübler and Markus Dolch from myview systems demonstrate how this complexity can be managed: through structured product data, intelligent rules, and a fully automated publishing process chain. This results in overview and product pages that are fully data-driven—scalable, efficient, and also precisely controllable. The presentation offers practical insights into the implementation at Regiolux and demonstratesspecifically how even extensive and complex catalogs can be efficiently automated, structured, and made permanently manageable using PIM and publishing systems.
