The all-round solution for database publishing and Web-to-print
Even if our name suggests it: priint:comet didn’t simply drop from the sky. This application provides all the classic database publishing functions for automated and/or fully automatic generation of InDesign documents. And of course these documents can subsequently be updated at any time. What was particularly important for us during the development of our ‘comet’ was a fully integrated change management. For example, with priint:comet subsequent modifications can be efficiently incorporated even if the InDesign documents have already been manually processed. Using the priint:comet components is very easy and can be learned pretty fast. The creation of templates is done in InDesign. Graphic Designers and DTP-Operators do not need to learn a new production environment. Flexible all-rounder: the priint:comet functions can be executed both, on a DTP workstation and via InDesign Server. Beyond that, priint:comet permits the customizing of content and subsequent editing of InDesign documents. Whiteboarding via a web client is also possible. The priint:comet publication planner monitors and controls the production of a print publication. With the browser based client you have an overview over the status of a current print publication at any time. Among its functions you also find a web based digital annotation possibility for InDesign documents. With the priint:comet Desktop Plugins, those annotations can also be viewed in InDesign. Comments can be added and changed, either through the web client or via Adobe InDesign. Workflows and task lists can be added, so that a user finds his projects tasks right in the document he works with. With the priint:comet whiteboard you can realize web based process steps, such as content gathering, page generation, changes, corrections, and customizing. For each step you can specify, if it should be done via the web or through InDesign. Document based translation workflows can easily be done in priint:comet whiteboard. The different components can be used separately. This allows you to start with a small DTP-workstation and step by step upgrade to a full Enterprise solution.
